Are you from a country that doesn’t require a visa to enter Canada? Now, all visa-exempt foreign nationals will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) prior to traveling. Canada’s eTA program goes into full effect on Nov. 9 2016 (no more leniency) so prepare yourself prior to traveling to avoid any ugly surprises at the airport!
It’s generally a quick and painless process that only costs $7 CAD and is valid for the life of your passport up to a maximum of 5 years. It’s recommended to apply prior to purchasing airline tickets and normally processing occurs in 1-2 days. Let us know if you have any questions.
